Welcome Grade 9 and 10 Music!!

COURSE SUMMARY

In Grade 9/10 Music students will have opportunities to acquire and apply a range of skills to support them in challenges. We take guidance from the IGSCE and other international curriculums when building our bespoke courses, and accelerated programs. These programs include empowering students with the ability to…

  • use their understanding of music-making in different cultures, times and places to inform opinions and shape their interpretations with musical expression through performances and compositions.

  • analyse different scores and performances aurally and visually.

  • evaluate the use of elements of music and defining characteristics from different musical styles and genres.

  • interpret, rehearse and perform solo and ensemble repertoire in a range of forms and styles.

  • interpret and perform music with technical control, expression and stylistic understanding.

  • use aural skills to recognise elements of music and memorise aspects of music such as pitch and rhythm sequences.

  • use knowledge of the elements of music, style and notation to compose, document and share their music.

  • develop the ability to express character, mood, atmosphere, or emotion through idiomatic and extended compositional devices and performance techniques.
