OVERVIEW
This course provides opportunities for the inquiry into, and reflection on the key elements of music. Including fundamentals of music performance, composition, technology and musicology.
Students use inquiry to gain awareness of performance techniques in solo and ensemble studies and through composition, they will produce live performances and compositions through cooperation and collaboration.

Music First: Interactive Encyclopaedia, Workbook, Text Book Resource
Your work will mainly be completed through our Music First applications and should be submitted through the Music First Platform. Within Music First there are many games, applications, and tools that you will need to use to complete tasks. A Username and Password will be sent to your school email. Ask your teacher if you don't have access.

Photos, and video's, and examples of work will be uploaded to the Google Classroom. Posts about upcoming due dates, and some content from lessons on a day to day basis will appear here. You can use this as a revision tool or to find out what homework you have!!
- Events
The Music Program has a busy and exciting performance event schedule:
Students will prepare two major showcase events in the year (Winter Concert, and Summer Celebration).
Community Events: Opening Ceremony, Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Tet Party, International Women's Day, Earth Day, Graduation, Embassy’s, Karaoke Competitions, Artist in Residence, Battle of the Bands.

In music, we also incorporate 21st Century Blended model. Students have the opportunity to engage in Languages (Singing - Italian, Latin, French, English, Vietnamese, Korean, Russian, Spanish etc), Public Speaking (MC, Radio Podcasts, Viva Voce), Coding (Music Notation, Graphic Notion, Robotics), STEM (Instrument building, Acoustics), Drama Games & Musical Theatre, Dance (Vietnamese/Contemporary), Film (Music Videos, Karaoke Competitions, Virtual Choir), Creative Communications (Journaling, Blogging, Vlogging, Seesaw, Podcasting) etc.

Pitch: How high or low the notes are
Melody: Does the melody move in steps, leaps? Is the melody ascending (going up) or descending (going down)

Duration (Rhythm and Phrasing): rhythm—how long and short the sounds are
